Beta vulgaris var cicla

Leafy vegetable with brightly coloured, highly ornamental and tasty stalks which can be pink, cream, yellow, red or white.

Use in a variety of cooked dishes or as a colourful garnish.
Best used when leaves are small and tender.

Grow in a sunny position in moist, well drained soil.
Enrich soil with compost and organic fertiliser.
