Vanilla Essence is super easy to make, the hardest part is waiting for it to be ready... it is worth the wait for sure.
Ingredients:
- 700ml Bottle of Spiced Rum
- 7-8 Whole Organic Vanilla Beans
Method:
- Use a knife to gently slice the vanilla beans in half
- Pour out around 20ml of spiced rum from the bottle (to make room for the vanilla beans)
- Add the vanilla beans to the bottle and tightly close the lid
- Give the bottle a good shake and store in a cool dark cupboard
- Shake the bottle every so often - once a week should be sufficient
- After 6 weeks the essence can be used, the longer you leave it the stronger it will be
