Liquid

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Dr Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap (flavour of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Washing Soda
  • 2-3 litres of Water
  • 50 drops of Essential Oil (optional)

Method:

  1. Mix baking soda and washing soda in a large pot or bowl (at least 3 litre capacity).
  2. Slowly add water and stir until baking soda and washing soda are almost dissolved.
  3. Add liquid castile soap and gently mix.
  4. Bottle the mixture up into airtight bottles for storage. I find using 2 or 3 - 1 litre bottles easier to pour than a heavy 2 or 3 litre bottle.

Use 1/4 per small/medium load or 1/2 cup for a large load.

Notes:

  • The laundry liquid may separate. Shake well before each use.

Powder

Ingredients:

  • 1 Dr Bronner's Castile Bar Soap - grated (flavour of your choice)
  • 1 1/2 cups Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 cups Washing Soda

Method:

  1. Grate the castile bar soap and add to storage jar.
  2. Measure and add baking soda and washing soda.
  3. Stir and the laundry powder is ready to use.

Use 1/2 a scoop per small/medium load or 1 scoop for a large load.
